The Fabz Estate hotel was not always regarded as the definition of luxury accommodation in Johannesburg. In 1980 Zlatko and Margaret Fabris bought a 25 acre plot in Lonehill Johannesburg. The family set out to build their dream home out of a bare veld with a two bedroom farmhouse on it. Ten years later the Fabris family began to let out their spare rooms on a bed and breakfast basis, and it was from these humble beginnings that the Fabz Estate luxury hotel emerged.

Fabz Estate is a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of Johannesburg without even leaving Johannesburg.
This fine establishment was tastefully built by every member of the Fabris family and served as their residence for more than a decade. This homely atmosphere still underlies our professional service and we guarantee that you, your guests and your family will feel relaxed and at home at Fabz.
Executive chef Jean Arlar has created several stunning menu options mirroring her excellent international experience.
There are a few options of venue within our venue, ensuring that you have the perfect setting to suite your requirements and taste.

THE LAKESIDE

Our lakeside venue adjoins the classy hotel buildings and offers you the perfect English garden setting under established trees with decks overlooking the lake. The Deck overlooking the lake and Lake Gazebo is ideal for pre-party services. The wooded park like gardens is ideal for photographs or arrival cocktails. Umpteen garden lights and fairy lights keep the gardens alive at night too.
Our beautiful icy white, draped marquee measures 15m by 9m and can accommodate up to 150 guests.

THE RIVER FRONT

This venue has the largest capacity and most relaxing setting. Our 350m of landscaped riverside is the most naturally beautiful part of the property. The river front is lush with green grass all year round with the Jukskei River as your background music.
The contrast between the sophisticated table settings and the vast natural beauty is unforgettable and certainly the best of two worlds.
A Himalayan white marquee can accommodate up to 350 guests who will be taken care of by our trained server staff and Banqueting Manger.

THE WINE CELLAR

The Cellar is one of a kind, taking the 22 steps down you come out into our stunning little wine cellar that can accommodate small groups of up to 40 guests. The Authentic underground Cellar is a very popular private dining room . Brick barrel arches, thick Oregon Pine doors, candle light, a six thousand bottle vintage wine collection, slate cobble floors and it's very own bar give it an almost medieval feel, and create the perfect setting for a festive occasion. The cellar is sound proof, and is the only area at our venue where loud music can be played after midnight.

THE RESTAURANT

Our recently refurbished restaurant is a fine dining establishment where service is of the highest standard. This is definitely the most sophisticated and formal venue. We cater for up to 64 guests. Candlelit tables are nestled between three fireplaces, fresh cut roses, antiques and artwork. Pre dinner drinks, cigars and cognacs are served in a stylish and comfortable adjoining lounge. We have a very cozy and romantic atmosphere and our skilled pianist provides the perfect live entertainment every evening and on Sundays at lunchtime.
